Mark Wilson returns to the craziest tournament in professional golf this week to defend his title at the Waste Management Phoenix Open. I don’t know about you, but nothing says “professional golf” like a grandstand filled with drunken college co-eds screaming at the top of their lungs. Jason Dufner finished second here last season, and Kyle Stanley looks to bounce back this week after a heartbreaking loss at Torrey Pines. Fantasy Golf Picks: Farmers Insurance Open

Last week was a rough one for my fantasy golf team. I fell out of first position and almost out of the Top-10 thanks to me not paying attention and making some pretty rough picks overall. Oh well; you live and learn. Redemption is around the corner for me this week at the Farmers Insurance Open, however, as defending champion Bubba Watson makes his way onto my roster again along with runner-up Phil Mickelson. Parity Isn’t So Bad For Golf, Folks

A couple weeks ago I read Jamison Weiss’ commentary on The Sand Trap, another national golf blog, pertaining to his belief that parity is bad for professional golf. He even went so far as to use specific examples from other mainstream professional sports to drive home his points, along with five specific areas that “prove” his case. All-in-all, it was a well-written, well thought-out article that left me thinking about each of the five points for the next few days.

Fowler, McIlroy Among Leaders in Korea

The second round of the Korea Open is officially in the books and a traffic jam of familiar names is forming atop the leaderboard. American Rickie Fowler is among the group of players tied for the lead along with US Open champion Rory McIlroy and defending Korea Open champion Y.E. Yang at 5-under-par. Korean Mo Joong-kyung and Australian Bronson La’Cassie are also among the leaders. Read more of this post
